About Us

My Background and Who I Am

With over 20 years of experience as a professional dog trainer, I specialize in addressing complex behavioral issues such as fear, anxiety, and dog-to-dog aggression. This field demands a commitment to lifelong learning, and I regularly attend seminars and workshops to stay current with industry advancements and continually refine my skills.

Driven by a deep commitment to providing comprehensive support for both pets and their people, I expanded my qualifications to include certifications as a death doula and life coach. These additional credentials have enhanced the quality and depth of the services I offer, allowing me to support clients through a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges with greater empathy, insight, and care.

Methodology

My journey as an animal trainer started with exotic birds before transitioning to working with dogs. This experience shaped my training style and as such I  advocate for the use of positive reinforcement methods. I’m committed to ongoing education and frequently attend seminars and workshops to stay informed about the latest science based training techniques in the animal behavior industry.

Art

Although dog training is my main focus, I’m also a passionate artist who loves creating pet-inspired artwork. In my spare time I enjoy painting watercolor portraits, drawing caricatures for fundraisers, sculpting pet memorials, and capturing photos that celebrate our amazing furry companions.

My Family

My big brown guy Baxter was a pandemic puppy. He’s a special boy and suffers from idiopathic epilepsy, which is a fancy way of saying “we don’t know why your dog has seizures.” Despite the ‘shakes’, he is a happy boy who loves to work and is the most gentle cuddle bug you’ve ever met.

Moon the pug thing came from a hoarding situation in Texas and I knew I would have a lot of work to do with him. I quickly realized that we had more than just a potty training issue. We also had to work through some serious separation anxiety and mysterious alopecia issues. Despite his set backs he settled into the routine and his new life here in Colorado. While Moon may not have made our life easier, he definitely made it better.

Not liking his photo taken is my loving husband Zach. The endlessly supportive rock under my feet that’s always lifting me up while keeping me grounded. Zach works behind the scenes helping me with all of the background work that goes into running a business. I couldn’t do any of this without him.
